First determine what the water may contain
A clean supply-line leak is not the same as a sewer backup, stormwater entry, seawater, groundwater or water mixed with chemicals. Unknown or contaminated water changes the protective equipment, removal, disposal and cleanup requirements.
AWC does not provide sewage cleanup, hazardous-material response, mold remediation or asbestos work. If those conditions are known or suspected, keep people away and contact the appropriate qualified provider before ordinary removal or drying.
- State where the water came from and whether flow continues.
- Report odors, discoloration, debris, sewage or chemical exposure.
- Identify wet electrical equipment, outlets or damaged building areas.
- Do not enter water to reach a panel, pump or shutoff.
The site must support safe removal
We need a stable equipment route, safe working area and an accepted location for removed water. A public street, harbor, storm drain or neighboring property is not an automatic discharge point. Public-system flooding or utility failures must be reported to the responsible city or utility.
For managed, rental, attached or commercial property, identify the party who can authorize entry, water removal and use of shared areas. Insurance notice does not replace owner authorization or a written work agreement.
What happens after standing water is gone
Removal exposes the next questions: which materials can be cleaned and dried, which require removal, whether concealed areas need specialist evaluation, and what caused the entry. A dry-looking surface does not prove that a wall, cabinet, floor or framing cavity is ready to close.
AWC may provide limited dehumidifier support under a separate agreement for suitable conditions. Specialized structural drying, moisture mapping, clearance testing and full restoration are outside this service. Those needs should be assigned before repair finishes cover the affected assembly.
Get the removal scope and price before work starts
The two-person emergency labor minimum is $2,480: $310 per person per hour, two people, and a four-hour minimum. Additional labor, equipment, materials and any other job charges are confirmed before approval.
Same-day emergency callouts may be available. Allow roughly four hours for an accepted call in this service area; we confirm the arrival window, crew, scope and price before dispatch. No arrival time is guaranteed.
For emergency availability, call 707-343-6753. For repair or rental requests, call or text 619-327-9513. Send the property address, water source, affected areas, current water depth, photos if safe, and the person authorized to approve work. AWC confirms coverage and scope before any visit; a call does not mean dispatch is confirmed.
Start with a complimentary photo review, usually the same day, or request a 15-minute site walk, typically within 48 hours. Timing depends on the property address and confirmed availability. This is an initial visual review of the damage and next steps. It does not include invasive investigation, moisture testing, clearance or repair work. Any chargeable investigation or work requires separate approval. Emergency water work is scoped and priced separately before it begins.
